Start Your Engines… Alliance AutoGas Racing Team Acquires a New Car and a New Attitude

2014 Alliance AutoGas Race CarThe Alliance AutoGas Racing Team (AAGRT), Scott Prewitt, David Kennedy, Steve McCoy from Blossman Gas  and Jake Weidie along with Crew Pit team member Ritchie Greene  announce the acquisition by team owner Steve McCoy of a new racing car, a 1990 Spec Mazda Miata.  The build on the car includes a Bob Thorton Race Engineering engine, a Torson Diff stock open diff with updated rear subframe braces and team dynamic wheels.   Alliance AutoGas sponsors the car.

The AAGRT has had some great success racing in the ChumpCar series to date, which are endurance races that range from 7-hours to 37-hours long and fast, intense, class-based sprint races of 40 minutes duration.  The team has seen action recently at the Virginia International Raceway and Road Atlanta located in Northeast Georgia.

“We’re working our way into the winner circle,” notes Scott Prewitt.  “Our last outing at Road Atlanta, started us in 84th position and ended in 27th place. With adjustments to the Miata and experience under our belts, the AAGRT will be at the top of our racing game soon.”

Look for big things from the Alliance AutoGas Racing Team in the 2014 season!
